My Foundation Routine (A Collaboration With Adia) - Makeup and Beauty Blog
Hey, anybody! Today I'm collaborating with the lovely Adia to show you how I wear my foundation (she'll be sharing her postal service later tonight), and also try out a new brush I haven't gotten a take a chance to work with withal, the Heavenly Luxe Complexion Master, No. xvi, from Information technology Cosmetics ($58).
Now, I don't ofttimes wear foundation (I typically go for a lighter coverage BB cream), but when I do desire heavier coverage, these are the products I similar to utilize.
First, I offset with a moisturized and primed face, and for primer, I go for e.l.f. Poreless Face Primer. It's a good gull for Smashbox in my opinion, although the formula seems to have changed recently, because the smell isn't quite as pleasant as it once was…
This castor has a lot of plusses, just on my first run through with it doing my normal routine, I noticed that I was really dry and cakey.
So I remembered something Adia recommends sometimes, which is to wet the brush. And so, while doing my look for this post, I made sure to spray some rosewater on the brush before buffing it into my makeup.
I could have used setting spray, but the olfactory property and the whole effect of using rosewater are simply so much more than appealing to me.
The smashing thing about the Heavenly Luxe brush is the shape. The flat sides are absolutely perfect for buffing product into your skin and for applying dry products, whereas the tapered end is ideal for getting into hard-to-reach areas similar the corners of your optics and the sides of your nose.
Just the brush also has a downside. While it claims non to shed…it does. I don't know if it'south simply the 1 I take, or perchance it needs to be broken in outset, but it has shed quite a fleck over the several times I've used it with liquid products so far.
With my foundation routine, I like to cover upward the redness that I go around my cheeks. We've been experiencing some really high winds here in NYC this spring, and it doesn't exercise my cheeks whatsoever good. While the rosewater does work to combat a footling of the dryness I experience under my optics and between my brows, I exercise still have a piffling dryness, but a quick spritz of setting spray helps.
I still may have to switch foundations 1 of these days soon to something more than moisturizing.
And there we get! I hope you enjoyed this little wait at my foundation routine. Do y'all happen to use Clinique Stay Matte Oil Complimentary Makeup? Do you have any recommendations for more hydrating foundations? If you exercise, please allow me know in the comments! I'd really appreciate information technology.
